Interesting.....I have heard about this 'link' and as a matter of fact, my Mom was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, about ten years ago, and it happens to be the exact same year, I started to notice symptoms. It is too late for her (as far as research, helping) but I hope that they make some headway with this. It has always made sense to me.

when mom was finally diagnosed with diabetes last March I knew this....I thought this was already out there?...
