Last night while getting Bill ready for bed I noticed a bright red irritation right in the crease of the leg. Probably from the depends rubbing there. Put on the bag balm and it's gone this morning.

Denise, the commode you are talking about sounds like the one I have. I always leave the guard in. Evey little bit helps. Now I just have to get him to sit. I wish he would sit every time,(it would sure save on the wet floors) but he's a "man" so he has to stand. If he would just sit I don't think he could miss the hole. There isn't that much room to move between the arms.

I don't know when I will get out again to get the belted briefs, but I am going to get them the first chance I get.

YIPEE!!!!! It's snowing again. Why does this winter seem so long?

We had a young kid stop by last night , still early but after dark, he was trying to get subscriptions for the newspaper. He said he had gotten two so far and if he could get one more he could go home. If not they were supposed to try until 8. I felt so sorry for the poor little froze thing that I ordered it for 8 weeks and told him to go home. The kid looked at me with this big smile and said "Really, you'll order it. Thank you"
You can call me gullible. He was a cute kid and I'm a sucker for cute kids.
Wish everyone a good day. Even if it is snowing

Okay. Frustration. WHERE in WALMART do you find the Bag Balm?? DH just called me and said he can't find it. I give up. WHY don't men ask directions??

Still frustrated, too, in getting someone to look at ON's bum. Even with keeping it thoroughly washed, dried and ointment on it, it is still quite red and raw. Very tender to the touch, considering the reaction I get from ON while applying vaseline to his bum...

Dr office faxed referral to the Wound Care clinic. 2 days later, I still haven't heard anything, so I find their phone number and call, begging for someone to tell me what to do beyond what I have been doing. Receptionist tells me that there is a 2 -week waiting period and they just received the fax and it will be Monday at the earliest before they can decide if it's urgent or not and set up an appointment. Then she states they cannot give medical advice over the phone until ON is seen by them. Suggested that I call PCP and find out what to do until then. The way it's going, ON will end up in a hospital due to the delays in getting him seen and treated.

Kat as slippery as that bag balm is, I bet those hemmoroids just slide right back in. I'll have to remember to try it the next time I have problems.

J Winslow wrote : I would swear by Bag Balm, which can be purchsed at Wal-Mart (in the pet food section here). It is amazing how quickly it works and how effective it is. My Mom never had skin problems as things progressed, and I fully believe it was because of generous Bag Balm use.

At our local Walmart it's in the pet aisle too. It's usually on the end of an aisle near the fishtanks if there are any. You can order it too from Vermont Country Store but the shipping might be expensive.

LOL about men asking for directions. I remember when my husband and I got married and he drove around for 3 hours lost instead of asking someone where we were lol!

I have used Bag Balm for years and love it. When QM's Aunt was living with them the doc put her on to Boudreaux's Butt Paste. This stuff works better than Bag Balm by a mile!

You can buy it in the baby isle at Walmart. I like it because it comes in a tube. Much easier to use and is a very good water barrier. I have been using it on FT since he started wearing the disposable briefs. While he was in the hospital the nurses told me that his skin was in better shape than most elders they see.

I'll have to keep Boudreaux's Butt Paste on file in case the Bag Balm starts to fail me. Right now the Bag Balm is working and it seems to last quite a while.

It does sound better to say I go to the baby aisle for Bill's med, than to say I go to the pet aisle. Just has a different ring to it.
